Advantages of Teaballs
Teaballs are plant extracts pressed into tablet form. The extract pressings can be dissolved in hot and cold water, producing a tea-like beverage. An ultra-thin, mineral protective layer prevents the teaballs from sticking together. In contrast to soluble tea (instant tea), Teaballs do not contain any additives such as sweeteners or flavor enhancers.
For our Teaballs we use only selected tea leaves.
Steam extraction of the leaves. Important ingredients are preserved in the process.
The essence of the plant is processed into powder.
The powder is pressed into the Teaballs form.
Dusting, checking solubility, size and weight.

The bagless tea alternative was invented by Dipl. Ing. Simon Schmidt from Gründau in the Main-Kinzig district. Simon’s strength is clearly his distinctive wealth of ideas. Back in 2017, he received the Hessian Founders’ Prize for one of his inventions. He developed a repair process for rail track parts. What is special about Simon’s inventions is that they are not just in one subject area. He has already developed products and business ideas in a wide variety of industries. For example, he has already worked on batteries for electric cars, a sales platform for video games and consoles, and a tool that is supposed to succeed in drilling perpendicular holes and threads without the usual and costly machines. Teaballs are the latest invention of the 35-year-old industrial engineer. If you want to know what Teaballs are made of, click here: Teaballs Ingredients. On the FAQ page you will find the answers to the most frequently asked questions. Now you can find out how Simon came up with Teaballs.
The invention of Teaballs is based on the desire to avoid tea bags. Dipl. Ing. Simon was on vacation and sat at a beautifully laid breakfast table. During the brewing time of his tea he thought about how to avoid the waiting time as well as the stains and waste of the tea bags. When he got back home, he got right to work tinkering with the idea with his sister.
How Teaballs are made
The manufacturing process first begins with the plant from which the extracts are to be obtained. Only selected leaves of the plant are then put through a gentle steam extraction process that preserves all the valuable ingredients. The powder is then processed and pressed into the typical tablet form. This is followed by refining and quality control, where the teaballs are dusted and tested for size, weight and solubility.
